Access codes:

  • 00 - 09 = Savings & Clubs
  • 10 - 19 = Checking
  • 20 - 29 = Regular loans
  • 30 - 39 = Mortgage Loans
  • 50 - 59 = IRA
  • 60 - 69 = Certificates

Check your statement or call the Credit Union for the suffix you need.

Use the Any Hour Help Line for balance inquiries, rate information, transfers, ordering check withdrawals in advance, placing a stop payment on checks, balancing your checking account using the list of the last ten checks that have cleared, and many other services.

 Family Membership

Your family members can also join the Credit Union and enjoy the same benefits that you do. You can also join GHA Federal Credit Union if one of your family members is already a member. Plus, once you join, members of your immediate family or household are eligible to join. Household is defined as persons living in the same residence maintaining an economic unit.

 Wire Transfers, Domestic and International

GHA Federal Credit Union offers wire transfers to its members to and from other financial institutions. The cost for this service is $15 per wire in the United States. (Costs vary on international transfers). You must contact the recipient financial institution for wiring instructions. Availability of funds depends on the financial institution transferring the funds. Your signature is required prior to processing the transfer and additional information may be required to verify identity. Generally, members must transfer funds by 1 p.m. (within the United States) and 10 a.m. (outside the United States).

 Lifetime Membership

Once you join the Credit Union, you can take us with you wherever you go, even if you change jobs, relocate, or retire.

 Notary Services

Notary Public Service is offered at no cost to all of our members. You may take advantage of this service by visiting our office.

A Notary may:

  • attest to the signature and execution of documents
  • authenticate the execution of documents
  • authenticate the content of documents and facts recited
  • administer oaths and declarations
  • act as power of attorney
  • verify corporate records and contracts
  • verify (via translator) translations of documents into English and from English
  • administer copies of Notarized documents
  • oversee international domain name transfers

 Signature Guarantee

A Medallion imprint or stamp indicates that the financial institution is a member of a Medallion signature guarantee program and is an acceptable signature guarantor. By participating in the program, financial institutions can guarantee customer signatures with the assurance that their guarantees will be immediately accepted for processing by transfer agents.

 Falcon

The way we shop has changed dramatically over the years. The advent of credit cards and the Internet has simplified shopping consideraly. Now more that ever it's important to feel safe when taking advantage of these shopping conveniences. GHAFCU offers advanced security through Falcon, a service included in your membership that fight credit card fraud.

Falcon detects credit card fraud through tracking individual cardholder, transaction, and merchant data. Ninety-five percent of credit card fraud losses fall into one of five categories including Lost or Stolen, Non-receipt (mail theft), Counterfeit, Application Fraud, and Mail Order/Telephone Order.

Falcon recognizes these types of fraud patterns and can determine the risk level through careful examination. If the risk level assessed reveals possible fraud, you will be contacted by Falcon and asked to verify whether or not the activity is fraudulent. If fraud is determined, the account is blocked and the credit card will not be accepted. If ever you receive a message from a GHAFCU Representative regarding Falcon and need to contact them, call 203-863-3186 for assistance.

With Falcon fraud detection service you can rest assured that you are being protected every time you use your credit card. This is just another way that GHAFCU extends financial convenience and superior member-focused service to you.

  Money Orders

The Credit Union offers money orders for a fee of $2.00 each.

  American Express Travelers Checks

Now you and your traveling companion can enjoy the convenience of using the same Cheques/Cards, whether you're together or apart.

  • Only one of you needs to be present to purchase the Cheques.

  Direct Deposit

Save yourself a trip to the Credit Union by using Direct Deposit to automatically deposit your paycheck into a GHAFCU account. Use Direct Deposit to automatically deposit all or a specified portion of your paycheck into your Credit Union account(s). It's a great way to regularly deposit savings.

If you would rather begin your weekend than battle traffic on your way to the credit union, then you need direct deposit in your life!

Payroll, Government, Income Tax Returns and Retirement Checks are eligible for Direct Deposit. To initiate Direct Deposit of U.S. Treasury Checks (i.e., Social Security, Civil Pension, Disability), contact a customer service representative for a Sign-up Form. For private employer pay, please consult your employer to originate Direct Deposit. The Credit Union's Routing and Transit # is 221174045.

  Automatic Teller Machine

Members can access their accounts around the clock at Cirrus® or NYCE® ACCEL, The Exchange ATM networks. The ATM offers the ability to withdraw, transfer or check balances 24 hours a day. A $1.00 transaction fee will be charged for each withdrawal or inquiry transaction (that is at a non-Credit Union Machine) Transaction at the GHA Federal Credit Union ATM i5 Perryrige Road s free of charge as well as the ATM's owned by Members Credit Union be aware, however, that non-Credit Union Machines may assess a "surcharge", if you do not use the Allpoint network. Now you can access all your accounts through the Internet from anywhere in the world. This secure service offers a wide range of features and it is easy to use. Online Banking allows you to:

  • View account history and check your balances
  • Transfer money between accounts
  • Transfer loan payments online
  • Request a check from your account
  • View interest and dividend information on your accounts
  • Verify if a check has cleared your account
  • Place stop payments on lost checks
  • Download your statement to Quicken or Money (QIF)
  • Request a copy of your statements
  • Sign up For Estatement or Enotices

Click on HOME BANKING. Enter your member number (which can be found on your monthly or quarterly statement) and a PIN number. If you do not have a PIN number please email us through the website and we will get you started.

For our members who would like to be able to move money between their spouse's or children's accounts please contact our office for special details.

  Bill Payer-e-Pay

e-Pay is an electronic bill payer application that allows members to access, view, and pay their monthly bills over the Internet from anywhere at anytime the Free with a checking account and full direct deposit of your payroll.

With e-Pay, members can visit our Web site, click on a specially designed link and enroll to pay their bills online. With this service, members can perform functions such as entering and maintaining payees, scheduling payments, and examining and downloading payment history data.

Electronic Bill Payment simplifies bill paying and saves time. With this system, there are no more trips to the mailbox, checks to sign, stamps to buy, or envelopes to lick. Members can pay their bills (electric, telephone, credit card, insurance, etc.) online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Once a member has signed up for Electronic Bill Payment, he or she can schedule payments to be made directly from his or her checking account. These payments can be made promptly or members can schedule them to be made automatically on a specific day each month.

A brief overview:
Once you have decided to use this convenient service, you must thoroughly complete the set up process. It is very important that you enter your checking account number correctly when using our e-Pay system. To ensure no mistakes are made, please be sure to have your checkbook in front of you.

Listed below are sample checking numbers as they appear at the bottom of all GHAFCU checks:

Our routing and tracking number is 9 digits between the "|: |:" symbols Your checking account number is to the left of the "||" symbol. Please do not include the zeros. This is the check number. It should match the number in the upper right corner.

You will then recieve an email once you have signed up, you will  need to go on line and verify the debits and credit charged to your checking account number.  This will tell the system you entered all the correct information, and then you   are ready to go!

  Ira Accounts

We offer members two types of IRAs:

  • A Traditional IRA is a tax-deferred personal retirement account. Your contribution each year may be tax deductible depending on how much money you earn, your maritial status and whether you contribute to a 401(k) plan at work.
  •  With a Roth IRA, your contribution is not tax-deductible, but when you retire and begin making withdrawals, you may do so tax-free.

  ATM Master Check Card

Master Check Cards allow you to withdraw funds from you checking account without ever having to write a check. You can use your Master Check Card anywhere you see the Master Card Logo. You can purchase groceries, gas or anything else and the money will come directly out of your checking account. No more writing checks and showing two forms of identification. Best of all, there is no charge for using the Master Check Card or no annual fee.

Our Master Check Card is also an ATM Card. It can be used worldwide. Money can be withdrawn from your checking account or your savings account.

The Credit Union as also added eNFACT Neural Network to our Debit Master Card Program

What is eNfact?

eNFact, is a Falcon based system for fraud detection. It uses a neural network,daily reports,and a call center of skilled analysts to access the likelihood that fraud is occurring on an account, and to provide notification or card statusing as appropriate.

What are the benefits and how does it work?

eNFact assesses the fraud risk of debit activity without delaying transactions or inconveniencing cardholders.

We have added 45 days of  history of our members spending habits and the system will look at that and build spending pattern history going forward.  If the system detects unusual spending habits they will call our office during business hours 8:00a-:4:00p to confrim fraud we will then try and contact our member.  If we cannot the member we will restrict the card and if the fraud happens in the evening hours the call center will restrict the card as well.

The credit union reviews reports first thing in the morning too see if  any cards were restricted in the evening and then try and contact our member.

Remember this is a new system and will take a while to learn cardholders spending patterns, observe changes and adjust profiles. If you are going out of the country please let the credit union know so that we will know not to restrict your card or can unrestrict your card if the call center restricts in the evening.
